How prizes are calculated
At ThinkGanesha, we are committed to a transparent and fair process for awarding prizes to our participants. Here's a comprehensive breakdown of how winners are chosen:
-
Eligibility for Prizes:
Only entries that have been approved and are available for viewing by the platform users are considered for prizes.
- Winning Points (WP):
- Winning entries are selected based on their 'Winning Points' (WP).
- WP is calculated by multiplying the total votes an entry receives by a factor called the ‘Contest Involvement Recognition Points’ (CIRP).
- Formula: WP = Votes x CIRP
- The entry with the highest WP is selected as the winner for that period.
- Weekly Prizes:
- Duration: Each entry is given a 10-day window from the day of its approval to be eligible for the weekly prize.
- Consideration Period: All entries that complete their initial 10 days within a week (from Monday to Sunday) are taken into account for that week's prize.
- Winner Selection: The entry that meets the above criteria and secures the highest WP for that week is awarded the weekly prize.
- Monthly Prizes:
- Duration: Each entry is given a 35-day window from the day of its approval to be eligible for the monthly prize.
- Consideration Period: All entries that complete their initial 35 days within a month are taken into account for that month's prize.
- Winner Selection: The entry that meets the above criteria and secures the highest WP for that month is awarded the monthly prize.
- Annual Prizes:
- Eligibility: Annual prizes are awarded to participants, not individual entries.
- Calculation: The total WP of all entries submitted by each participant during the year are calculated.
- Winner Selection: The participant with the highest cumulative total of WP across all their entries for the year is declared the annual winner.
- Understanding 'Contest Involvement Recognition Points’ (CIRP):
- CIRP is a dynamic factor that depends on various activities of a participant.
- Factors influencing CIRP include:
- The number of votes a participant has given to entries from other participants. (CIRP is always a number equal to or greater than 1).
- The participant's interaction with the contest's social media platforms.
- Citations in media and other notable mentions.
- CIRP is recalculated for each contestant every month. One primary way to influence your CIRP is by actively voting for entries from other contestants.
- In essence, WP is derived from the votes received for each of your entries, and the CIRP multiplier you earn through voting for other participants and other engagement activities.
-
Note:
An entry can never win the same prize (e.g., 2nd prize) more than once in a year.
